The Ninety-Nines

The Ninety-NinesThe Ninety-Nines (99's), a women's licensed pilot association, presented Ron Hite with a plaque for the Kendallville Municipal Airport. Pictured from left are Ellen Warford, Kathy C Molargik and Doris Thompson, all women pilots, and Hite. Molargik said the plaque was presented to the airport because these are the first female licensed pilots from Noble and Lagrange counties. The plaque will have names of all future female pilots added as they achieve their license. Thompson was the first female to receive her license and Molargik the second. Thompson lost a son in a plane crash soon after she received her license and chose not to fly again. Molargik started flying at age 14,soloed on sixteenth birthday and received her license shortly thereafter. Warford received her license third and enjoys flying. Molargik and Warford are both active in the Ninety-Nines Association.
